Tourism Awards 2026

Tourism is vital for Cumbria’s people and economy.

Want to create a stunning first impression and attract more visitors? Cumbria in Bloom’s Tourism Assessment—proudly supported by Cumbria Tourism—celebrates businesses that go the extra mile in making their spaces beautiful, welcoming, and environmentally friendly.

This exciting initiative is open to all tourism-related businesses, encouraging them to showcase their charm while embracing three key principles: outstanding horticultural practice, environmental responsibility, and active involvement in the local community.

Join us in making Cumbria even more inviting—one blooming business at a time! 🌿🌸

The assessment is currently structured around six award categories, as follows:

Public House

Bed & Breakfast/Guest House Accommodation

Small Hotel (up to 15 bedrooms)

Large Hotel (over 15 bedrooms)

Visitor Attraction (including golf clubs)

Self Catering Establishments/Holiday Parks

Any Cumbrian business that classifies itself as a tourism business can enter. It is not a requirement for them to be a member of Cumbria Tourism

If requested it may be possible for Cumbria in Bloom to provide guidance. In July judging takes place against the published criteria.

In addition to getting feedback from judges there is the opportunity for the best to receive a trophy at Cumbria in Bloom’s annual Awards’ Ceremony along with associated publicity.

The fee is £35 per entry
