Pride in Your Community Assessments 2026
Pride in Your Community is Cumbria in Bloom’s main assessment and links to the national RHS Britain in Bloom competition, the UK’s largest community gardening campaign. It is an annual assessment organised by the Cumbria in Bloom voluntary regional committee and has been running for almost 30 years.
The aim of Pride in Your Community is to encourage the improvement of our surroundings through the imaginative use of trees, shrubs, flowers and landscaping.
Getting involved couldn’t be simpler. Download and complete the entry form and email it back to us with the correct fees and we will then do the rest. Thank you
- Town / Parks, Cemeteries/Graveyards = £95 entry fee
- Village and Urban Community = £50 entry fee
- Hamlet = £25 entry fee
- Parks, Cemeteries & Graveyards – Free if entered as part of a Town, Village or Hamlet entry. A standalone entry of £50 will be charged
Assessment Criteria involves:
- Visible impact of flowers and floral bedding
- Maintenance and care of horticultural displays
- Photographic evidence of seasonal colour
- Attractive permanent planting and landscape
- Community and private involvement
- Local environmental quality
- Sustainability and Environmental Awareness
- Commercial and industrial involvement
- Absence of litter, graffiti, fly tipping and general cleanliness
of the area - Efforts made by the Police, hospitals, universities, schools,
churches community groups etc.
