Very Successful Assessors Training Day at Gosling Sike

Thirty Cumbria in Bloom Assessors/Judges spent the day at the Cumbria Wildlife Trust centre at Gosling Sike, Houghton, Carlisle. Grateful thanks are due to our hosts and Adam McGinley, the site Director. Adam led a tour of the site, describing each section in detail. We met some of the very knowledgeable volunteer staff. Below are some photographs from the day.

The Cumbria in Bloom assessors were shown the seed bank at Gosling Sike. This is a very importent asset whereby seed is collected from rare plant sites around Cumbria, sorted and stored with quantities eventually sent to the Millennium seed bank partnership.
