This is a fantastic accolade for Danny Poland coming on the back of a magnificent couple of years for Danny, his family and the community of Irthington. Not only did Irthington achieve a Gold Award in the 2022 Cumbria in Bloom awards, but Danny himself was also awarded the Young People’s Community Champion Award by RHS Britain in Bloom. Irthington was recognised with a Silver Gilt by the RHS Britain in Bloom judges.
Danny’s success is down to his own efforts as well as all the mentoring that he has received from his family, friends, RHS, BiB judges (Rae Beckwith in particular) and CiB judges and MC members, MP, Larch Cottage Nurseries, CN and Cumbria TV reporters as well as Irthington residents, businesses, Cumbria WLT, RSPB and school headteacher. If lots of people contribute a little then something like this comes to fruition.
